CHENISE ANTHONY
Chenise is a graduate of Ridgeway High School and will attend Rhodes College. She has a love for natural science and history. This love has directed her towards the path of law. She plans to major in political science/pre-law with a goal of becoming a District Attorney General. She feels this scholarship would help meet some of the financial challenges she will face as she pursues her educational goals.

 

BREA BOWERS
Brea is a graduate of St. Benedict-Auburndale and will attend Christian Brothers University. Her first career goal is to obtain her undergraduate degree and attend medical school to become an Anesthesiologist. Brea’s dream is to develop a medical program for high school students for them to have hands-on learning. This scholarship will afford her the opportunity of furthering her education in the field of medicine.


SYDNEY COLLINS
Sydney is a graduate of White Station High School and will attend Spelman College. Her academic interest includes Spanish, Psychology and Business. Her interest has led her on the path to become a Psychologist so she can serve the English and Spanish speaking community. Sydney strongly believes in creating opportunities for individuals. This scholarship will allow her to further her education at an institution where she knows she will thrive.


HASTINGS HILL
Hastings is a graduate of the Master’s School in Dobbs Ferry, NY and will attend Vanderbilt University in the Fall. She has a fascination with human social behavior and with such, plans to major in Sociology. This area of study will help her learn more about herself and others. Hastings believes this scholarship would assist in continuing her education.

 

ALONDRA HUNT
Alondra is a graduate of Melrose High School and will attend Middle Tennessee State University. She has chosen the field of Broadcast Journalism because she is inquisitive and wants to understand the story behind the story. She enjoys learning about other people and listening to their stories. Alondra feels this scholarship will help fulfill her goal of becoming a journalist.


SHARON JOHNSON
Sharon is a graduate of Middle College High and will attend the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. While attending UT-Knoxville, she wants to major in Business and become an Entrepreneur. Sharon’s creative spirit has allowed her to develop a business idea and plan that will put her well on her way to becoming a successful business owner. This scholarship will assist her in fulfilling her educational goals.


DYNISHA LEE
Dynisha is a junior at the University of Tennessee-Martin. She is majoring in Cell & Molecular Biology with a concentration in Pediatric medicine. Dynisha is a two-time NCBW Scholarship Award recipient. Although she is in college, she continues to participate in various youth activities—youth counselor, mentoring and tutoring – in support of her community. This scholarship will continue to help fulfill her dream of becoming a Pediatrician.

 

MELANIE McCLENDON
Melanie is a graduate of St. Benedict-Auburndale and will attend the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She has chosen the field of law. Melanie believes a lawyer acts as both and advocate and advisor in our society. She hopes to continue using her skills and talents to help others. Melanie feels this scholarship will help her pursue her goals of becoming a successful lawyer.

 

ARIEL MILTON
Ariel is a graduate of White Station High School and will attend Texas Christian University in the Fall. She has a passion for sports and a great interest in law. Her extensive research showed her how she can combine her love for sports and law, so Ariel has chosen to major in Sports Management. After obtaining her undergraduate, she plans to attend law school. This scholarship will assist in meeting her financial obligation but importantly attaining her goal.

 

SANTA PATTON
Santa is a graduate of Central High School and will attend Vanderbilt University when college begins. She will major in Biology with the plan of becoming a Dentist. Growing up she looked forward to her semi-annual cleanings but especially the bubble gum flavored fluoride treatment. This scholarship will help ease part of the financial strain of college expenses and allow her to help another young person to have a positive dental experience.

 

JADE WALLACE
Jade is a graduate of Germantown High School and will attend Vanderbilt University. She is curious to learn more about the psychological and neurological development of children and how these areas affect the way a child learns and interacts with others. This interest has led her to major in Child Development and will work towards her doctorate with her ultimate goal of becoming a Pediatrician. Jade feels this scholarship will assist in furthering her education.
